Here’s Jay-Rel‘s debut mixtape Highly Underrated that we dropped last year, January 29th 2012 to be exact. It was also our first release as a label. Jay-Rel dropped “Highly Underrated” when he was 19 yrs old. It displayed his unique flows, swagger, and some of his playeristic ways with the ladies. It really didn’t have a theme or concept but to show off his skills and let you know that you might want to pay attention to him and his music more. It featured label-mates Gee Watts, Dre Harmony, and Jordan Taylor. Also had features from NNN’s Wayne Wayne and Jay-Rel’s close homie Peez who also was given the honor to spit on the bonus track. The only original tracks on here were by Mike Hurst on the “Outro” and Taylor Gang’s Cardo on “Somethin’ Like A Love Song“.
Fan Favorites: “Oh No” “Don’t Touch My Shit” “Feelin’ It” Ft. Gee Watts “Party” “Break It Down” and “Outro”
Here’s Jay-Rel’s 2nd mixtape Figure 8 which definitely should his growth and maturity as an artist and emcee. The concept of Figure 8 is something you could live by and put it into you’re everyday life. Jay-Rel says “The Figure 8 line is infinite; it never stops; just like your grind, it should never stop like the Figure 8″. This project was more of a serious project, speaking on the grind, hustle, problems, and dreams. You can hear the determination and feel the passion in every word. Jay-Rel took a different approach with this mixtape with only having 3 mixtape beats and 8 originals. Features from label-mates Gee Watts, Jordan Taylor, and Bay Hamp. Peez makes another appearance and some vocals from Nave’ make it on it. Jay-Rel also introduces the world to BTW (Mykell Vaughn, Bay Hamp, and Jay-Rel) with the bonus track. Production is handled by Mike Hurst, Kid Prince, and Chase N Dough.
Fan Favorites: “Wolf Amongst Sheep” “L.U.V.” “The Dreams Is Back” “You Know” Feat. Nave’ and Bay Hamp and “The Pace” Feat. Mykell Vaughn.

2. January 29th – Jay-Rel Releases debut mixtape “Highly Underrated”

Jay-Rel – Highly Underrated (Mixtape)
Our first release as a record label, Jay-Rel “Highly Underrated”. He came up with the title after he recorded his verse for Gee Watts track “YNS” featuring NNN’s Jdot, which they also did a video for that you’ll see later in the post. The mixtape was played heavy in the metro of KC and got him a dope mixtape review here: http://catchingtheflow.tumblr.com/post/20152171449/flow-sounds-jay-rel-highly-underrated-review . Highly Underrated shows various sides of Jay-Rel as a artist. He spits and shows off his flow on every song and showcases his singing on “Something Like a Love Song” “My Love Song’s Interlude” and “Break It Down” and does Kansas City’s tradition fonk music on “Oh No”. On the Outro he links up with producer Mike Hurst for a crazy display of punchlines. They have tracks in the chamber ready to release for 2013.
3. Febuary 19th – Dre Harmony & Zae Lyricz – Love Jones Collab EP

“Lay” and “Word Called Love” both produced by Boy GeneYus are fan favorites. “Lay” has also been featured on Hot 103.3′s Underground Heat radio segment. A lot of fans called this a teaser because it didn’t have a lot of songs by Dre Harmony but we plan on releasing his debut mixtape with a lot of new music in 2013.

B’A – BayMuzik V 1 (Mixtape)
